FEP Expansion Joints
Shrink-on bellows-type FEP expansion joints have been successfully used in chlorine gas header systems since 1977. Conventional ball and spigot expansion joints are not considered acceptable for chlorine headers due to leakage from chemical attack.
Features
1 to 2 hours installation time with industrial heat guns or hand held propane torch.
Actually out-last the fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) headers.
Allows for a 2" axial expansion.
Immune to attack by most chemicals and solvents over a temperature range from -400 to +400° F.
Expansion joints to fit pipe diameters ranging from 16" to 60".
Internal support rings made of PFA are used to prevent collapse under vacuum conditions.
- All Necessary Components Included:
A corrosion- resistant fluorosilicone rubber cement is applied under I.D. etched bellows after shrinking on pipe. The sealant can withstand 500° F. An 1/8" thick band of EPDM rubber is wrapped around the bellows and secured in place with three 316 stainless-steel bands.
Our engineers are available for on-site installation and training.
